Your mission
The Receiving & Inventory Specialist is responsible for receiving incoming shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting daily warehouse operations. This role ensures all materials are received, documented, stored, and tracked accurately to support production and maintain inventory accuracy.
What you'll do
Key ResponsibilitiesReceiving
- Receive incoming shipments and verify deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect materials for accuracy, shortages, damages, or defects, and report discrepancies promptly.
- Enter received materials into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Create new inventory items and supplier records within the WMS as needed.
- Label, organize, and route materials to the appropriate warehouse locations.
Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate inventory through daily transactions, cycle counts, and inventory adjustments.
- Perform routine cycle counts and assist with scheduled physical inventories.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and communicate findings to supervisors.
- Ensure inventory locations remain organized, clearly labeled, and easily accessible.
- Monitor inventory levels and help identify potential shortages or overstock situations.
Warehouse Operations
- Stock shelves and replenish inventory locations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, and Logistics teams to ensure material availability.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of receipts, inventory transactions, and adjustments.
- Prepare inventory reports and documentation as needed.
- Ensure all paperwork and electronic records are completed accurately and on time.
- Follow company procedures for inventory control and warehouse documentation.
Your profile
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience in receiving, inventory control, warehouse operations, or a related role.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
- Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks (or willingness to become certified if company training is provided).
Preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP system.
- Forklift certification.
- Experience performing cycle counts and inventory audits.
