As a Junior PCB & Electrical Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the reliability, optimization, and development of our electronic hardware. You will transition existing prototypes into scalable, mass-production-ready designs, troubleshoot hardware failures, and take complete ownership of our cable and interconnect systems.
Junior PCB & Electrical Systems Engineer
Your mission
What you'll do
Full-Cycle PCB Design: Transition from maintaining existing hardware to independently designing and developing new PCBs completely from scratch.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Utilize lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, thermal imaging) to diagnose, debug, and resolve complex hardware and signal integrity issues.
Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Modify and optimize existing schematics and layouts to lower production costs, improve yield, and ensure readiness for mass production.
Cable Systems Ownership: Take full responsibility for the design, connector selection, and routing of cable harnesses. You will ensure durability and signal integrity across all moving mechanical parts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with firmware, mechanical engineering, and operations teams to ensure seamless hardware integration.
Professional Development: Actively participate in mentorship sessions and complete company-sponsored training courses to master specialized electrical engineering topics.
Your profile
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
Technical Fundamentals: Strong foundational knowledge of circuit design, component selection, and basic multi-layer PCB layout principles.
Software Tools: Familiarity with standard PCB design software such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or Eagle.
Problem-Solving Mindset: A structured, analytical approach to debugging hardware issues. You look beyond the immediate symptom to find the root cause of a failure.
Drive and Motivation: An exceptional eagerness to learn, a proactive work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualification: Prior experience or a strong personal interest in 3D printing systems, CNC machinery, or robotics is highly advantageous, though not strictly required.
Why us?
World-Class Mentorship: You will work side-by-side with a world-renowned PCB design expert, offering you a learning curve that is unmatched in the industry.
High Autonomy: True ownership of critical hardware components early in your career.
Impact: The opportunity to see your designs directly power physical, cutting-edge hardware innovations.
Competitive Compensation: A rewarding salary and benefits package aligned with a high-growth tech company.
As a company specializing in both hardware and software, we value close collaboration within our team. Therefore, we are seeking candidates who can join us at our office in Hamburg. Flexibility to travel regularly to our Austin farm in the US is also required.
